Challenge & Context
The athletics track had to be suitable for both training sessions and competitions, striking a good balance between performance, durability and cost. It was also important that the track remained practical to manage and maintain.
In this case, the solution was to have the surface re-topped, which restored its technical properties and appearance to as-new condition.
Approach

The result

Suitable for high-performance use
The track supports consistent performance for both training and competition at a high level.

Durable and practical
The system is designed for long-term use within a club environment.

Balanced for performance and cost
The solution combines functionality with efficiency.
Technical specifications
Under the same conditions, the service life of a retopped surface is the same as that of a new surface.
Retopping is more sustainable than laying a completely new track. This is because it uses considerably less material. Retopping also produces less waste than removing the old track.
