How long does a seamless sports floor last?

Fifteen to twenty-five years. That is the service life we maintain for our seamless sports floor systems, and it is a range with a message: the difference is ten years, nearly doubling the value of the same investment. Where that difference comes from can be named precisely.

Factor 1: the base the floor rests on. A sports floor is as durable as its subfloor. Moisture from below, an unstable base or poor adhesion work invisibly for years before becoming visible. A long service life therefore starts at specification: assessing the subfloor, checking moisture conditions, and matching the system to them. That is not a formality before handover but the foundation for the decades after it.

Factor 2: the use, and whether the floor was built for it. A floor for daily school sports wears differently from a competition hall with stands, and a play hall differently from a multifunctional venue that also hosts fairs and ceremonies. Rolling loads from stands, equipment and access platforms are a bigger wear factor than sport itself. A floor specified for actual use reaches the top of the range; a floor chosen too light never reaches the bottom of it.

Factor 3: maintenance, the factor managers control themselves. The top layer of a seamless floor protects everything beneath it. Periodic professional maintenance keeps that layer clean, grippy and closed, and flags early damage before it spreads.
